Contest Recap

The Hunterdon Harmonizers just returned home from their weekend competition and convention in Reading, Pa.  It is accurate to say that we were “clowning around” since we performed in circus-themed costumes, with clowns, acrobats, lion tamers, and even a strongman on stage.  The audience loved it and we scored well with our two selections: “Make ‘em Laugh” and “Paper Moon.”

The convention drew barbershop singers from New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, with over 250 men taking part in the performances.  Also, the convention featured a fantastic Youth Adjudication, with 19 different a cappella high school, middle school, and elementary school ensembles amazing their “elders.”  These kids are fantastic, and it is a source of pride that our society, through the Barbershop Harmony Foundation, supports their musical growth.

Where Will You Find Us?

The Harmonizers will be performing in the largest Veterans' Fundraiser in the history of Hunterdon County on May 19, 2pm, at North Hunterdon Regional High School.  We are proud to take part in this event to support our Veterans in need of a helping hand.  For more information on this important community celebration

On Memorial Day, the Harmonizers will again be taking part in the ceremonies at the Flemington monument on Main Street immediately after the Memorial Day parade.  We have been honored to be able to contribute to this important salute to our veterans for over 30 years.  This year, we will also be able to support the post-parade activities in Readington. We are proud to be part of the heart of New Jersey.

gChangesLives

Harmony Foundation International believes in the transformative power of singing. No matter if you think you can carry a tune or not, the simple act of raising your voice in song provides so many physical, social and emotional benefits to your life.
  • Our mission is to connect people through charitable giving to enrich lives through singing. We fulfill our mission by partnering with singing organizations and funding their programs that encourage and enhance singing experiences for all ages ensuring everyone has access to the life-changing power of singing.
  • Our donors financially enable programs that share, nurture and perpetuate the love of singing, in particular four-part a cappella-style harmony. As proud ambassadors for philanthropy, we link those who desire to be financial catalysts for inspiration directly to our impact partners providing programs that enrich lives through singing.
  • We grant support for scholarships that provide singing and training opportunities to middle school through college age youth, as well as singing directors and singing educators. We also grant outreach programs to develop new audiences and participants and provide opportunities for lifelong singing to people of all ages.
  • Our donors often declare that they know they will never be able to give back as much as singing barbershop has provided to their lives but they know that no matter the size of gift, the Foundation will be able to put it to good use. Thanks to our dedicated donors, last fiscal year alone, we were able to distribute nearly $1.5M in funding that is creating ripple effects of benefits into communities across the country.
