  • Type of event: Rehearsal
    Start time: 7:30pm
    Duration: 2 1/2 hours
Venue: Flemington United Methodist Church (entrance on Maple)
    Description: Dear HHs -

Thank you all for such successful CRAFT FAIR concerts this weekend! We sang well and made a good impression on our audiences and also on prospective guests! For those of you who prepared but were unable to join us, we missed you! Special thanks to Rusty, RichC., and their cadre of volunteer helpers who put on such a great event for the crafters and the community. THIS is what the Harmonizers are all about. Congratulations.

Also, congratulations to Gimme Four Quartet for winning the M-AD District Quartet Contest. Many of you will remember that these guys were our guest quartet for our 2016 DPP concert. Also, our own Andrew and Marcus Hunter were members on-stage of the 5th place chorus, East Coast Sound! The more good singing each of us does, the better we become individually and as an ensemble.

Also this past weekend (Friday night) we had a Harmonizers table at the very popular Flemington JAZZ Fest, thanks to Tracey Hunter, and a group of HH volunteers. We even staged a pickup quartet to sing twice, between the various Jazz acts. We talked up our Holiday Show to whoever happened to Walk On By. Great exposure! We even met Mike and his family - he is the Manager of the Flemington COSTCO.

We now turn our full attention to the song roster for the Christmas CIRCUS Show.
    Here's what's on-tap for this evening:

    1. Make 'Em Laugh - We start from Chorus 2 in the show, but tonight we'll read starting from Chorus 1.
    2. Ringmaster's Lament - Ensure that the 2nd verse and TAG are good. This is OFF-PAPER.
    3. Light One Candle - Off Paper 10/.10.
    4. We Wish You - Focus on YOUR trouble-spots. We'll check it tonight at the end of the evening. Also OFF-PAPER.
    5. White Christmas - Off paper 2 weeks on 10/3. The chorus WILL sing the optional Key Change. As you saw, we now have procured new LEARNING tracks which include the Key Change.
    6. 3 Carol Medley - Introducing 9/19.

IMPORTANT: We have done a lot of NEW SONG LEARNING over the last 6 weeks. If you've missed a significant number of rehearsals, you will need to keep up, as there is still more new music coming for the show. Please talk to your SL if you have questions or need help. Remember that we are Self-Evaluating our progress. Our goal is to for each of us to know a song at least 70% to rehearse ON the risers with the group, and be 90% for a performance. Rusty will talk to us about each of these levels and answer questions!

PVI (Personal Voice Instruction) Pgm continues tonight at 7pm, coordinated by Rusty., for selected individuals as confirmed last week. This will bolster our skills individually.

Remember to be a SINGER-BRINGER!! If they begin NOW with us, they may be able to participate in our HOLIDAY Shows.

PS. REMINDER that Next Tuesday (9/26) our Chapter Meeting will be a JOINT Meeting in Allentown, PA with the Lehigh Valley Harmonizers. We'll start earlier than usual, in order to get to THEIR chapter location by 7pm. Hope MANY of you can attend, as it will be a fantastic networking opportunity, and a ton of FUN!
