8/22 Chapter Meeting

    Description: HHs - (I sent this out last night, from Florida, but I'm not sure it actually got sent; trying again from NJ...)

    As mentioned last week, we will have Sectionals this week, with the main focus on "Make 'Em Laugh": 
    - Hippopotamus TAG (max 5 min)
    - Make 'Em Laugh (2nd chorus to tag) (15 min) 
    - Ringmaster's Lament (trouble spots) (10 min)

    Did you enjoy our Ridge High School guests from last week?  Why not bring a GUEST of your own this week?  (And then bring them along to the HH 8/27 picnic as well!).

    This week, we will continue to introduce new material that will be used in our Holiday Show, "Santa Saves the Circus". 
    1. Make 'Em Laugh!  The LEARNING TRACKS are already up on our website. Take a few listens prior to our next rehearsal.  (No need to focus on the Intro at this point). You will receive a paper copy of the music this coming Tues, but the chart is also viewable on the Members Only.
    2.  Ringmaster's Lament - LEARNING TRACKS are up.  Please have this one OFF-PAPER on 8/29 (One week from now).
    3.  Hippopotamus - This song is now OFF-PAPER (as of Tues 8/15); we will debut this at our Sept Craft Fair shows to help promote our Dec show.
    4. We Wish You - This was new for RSS last year, and is coming along well.  OFF-PAPER on 8/22 (THIS week).

    For THIS WEEK, we'll also focus on some of our repertoire that will be part of the Craft Fair shows on Sep 16-17th, such as:
    1. Railroad
    2. Do You Hear the People Sing 
    3. Daydream
    4. Armed Forces Medley

    Remember to be a SINGER-BRINGER for the remainder of the summer!!!

    PS - Plan to attend our (always FUN) HH picnic, this year scheduled for Sunday, Aug 27th from 2pm until 10pm at the home of Don and Cathi Reckenbeil (408 W. County Drive, Branchburg). Feel free to bring friends who like to sing and may be thinking about visiting us!  Sign up on for the EVENT on our website. Chapter provides burgers, dogs, punch and sodas; you can bring something to share with all (salad, side, dessert, beer, etc.)
